Founded in 1925 following a devastating fire that destroyed much of Jefferson's business district, the Jefferson Volunteer Fire Company has proudly served our community for more than a century. What began as a small group of dedicated volunteers determined to better protect their neighbors has grown into a modern emergency services organization providing fire protection, rescue services, emergency medical care, fire prevention education, and community support throughout the region.

Throughout our history, one thing has remained constant: a commitment to serving others. From purchasing Greene County's first triple-combination fire truck in 1925 to operating advanced fire apparatus, rescue equipment, and one of the region's volunteer Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance services today, our members have continually adapted to meet the changing needs of the communities we serve.

As a volunteer organization, our success has always depended on the support of our community. Through generations of dedicated members, auxiliary volunteers, fundraisers, hall rentals, community events, and local partnerships, Jefferson Volunteer Fire Company continues to uphold a proud tradition of service while preparing for the challenges of tomorrow.
